Stop fighting the grey — commit to it. The recipes that work under cloud lean muted: Classic Chrome and Eterna compress the palette toward documentary and cinema instead of pushing saturation into murk. A slight warm white-balance shift keeps skin alive without faking sunshine.
Protect the sky, lift the shadows. An overcast sky is one stop of near-white that clips easily; DR400 with lifted shadows holds the cloud texture while keeping faces open. Grain earns its place here too — texture reads as intent where clean grey reads as accident.
